Roman and Greek gods are similar but they have different names even though they have the same roles.
How were they worshiped?
People from Rome believed in their gods while people from Greece believed in their gods. It was acceptable to worship more that one god so the people worshiped all of them based on their different spirits.

In the Roman Empire, the priests were usually called pontiffs and flamens. They believed gods had the power to give or take privileges away. In Ancient Rome, priest had powerful positions and being a priest would make your status level go up and have more wealth.

Names & Roles: The god of all the gods for Romans was Jupiter although for Greeks there was Zeus. Poseidon was the greek god of the sea although Romans had Neptune as their god of the sea. There was also a Greek god of the underworld named Hades and for Romans, Pluto played the same role. There are so many more gods that had same roles in the empires althou had different names.

Constantine, the Christian Emperor
He was born in 280 C.E. His dad was a military officer, Flavius Valerius Constantius. After his dad was raised in rank and was sent to Augustus Maximian to serve in the West. Later, Constantine married the stepdaughter of Miximian. He was sent to the eastern empire, at the court of the senior emperor.

At a meeting with Licinius in the modern Milan, he confirmed to tolerate christianity for his citizens. He also sorted and made some decitions about other political things as well.

The historians are still not sure was was the reason he transitioned the Roman Empire into christianity. Although some people say he might of dominated his mothers Helenas christianity.

He wasn't always a christian, he only became a christian after legalizing it in the Roman Empire.
Byzantium → Constantinople
Byzantium is an ancient city found by Greek colonists. Throughout the years it developed and now it is known as a big city called Istanbul. An ancient histarian sais it was found on the European side of the Bosphorus.

Why was it important?
Another reason why Byzantium was important is that many Europeans relied on Christian Byzantine emperors, to provide Europe with goods and to trade with the east. Although as Constantinople fell and became Istanbul which is a muslim city now, the christian traders refused to do buisness with them refering to high prices.

Religious: The Byzanium empire impacted multiple societies, mainly because of its job in forming Christian Orthodoxy.

Geographical: Byzantium was identified as a right city where the emperor should sit. It had an easy access to Danube and Euphrates boondocks. His court was provided from the rich gardens and refined workshops of all roman Asia. It was also one of the main reasons why Constantine had chosen it as a capital, instead of Rome.
