In Mandarin, they are a lot of words that sound the same, but their meaning and spelling are totally different. If we did not pay a lot of attention to that. People might misinterpret that. I remember I even have many lessons on how to distinguish the words that sound the same but have a different meaning. It is annoying sometimes, but without language, we cannot communicate at all.
