Creative Place: The Mess Studio
How does this place support creative innovation, culture, resources, and habitat?
This place supports creative innovation as it allows individuals to create and paint whatever they desire. There is no limit or set rules about what can or cannot be done. This place allows people to develop their own ideas in order to transform them into unique artwork.
This place supports creative culture as it allows individuals to express themselves freely through creating artwork in a non-judgemental environment.
Individuals are able to take the artwork that they painted themselves home or leave them at the Mess Studio for display and to be admired by the community.
This place provides a variety of materials resources, such as paint, paint brushes, and canvases for people to use. These materials are always stocked up, which provide people the ability to be creative.
Volunteers and mentors are always available within the studio to provide individuals with help when needed in regard to creating their artwork.
The Mess Studio is a creative habitat as the environment itself that stimulates creative thinking. This is because they recognize that art is often therapeutic and allows for people to be more open in terms of communicating and ideas.

Located in Kingston, Ontario - at 130 Clergy Street
Open to the public community Tuesdays to Thursdays (10am-1pm)

This place is configured for both individual and collaborative creative work.
Individual creative work --> Individuals are free to paint anything they want with using the art supplies available.
Collaborative work --> Individuals are free to work with others to paint anything want.
Collaborative work is suggested as it allows for individuals to establish new relationships and connections with others who seek to create art.
The environment itself is an open concept and has tables grouped all together to promote collaborative work
What kind of time pressure is there at this place?
People have the ability to paint creative during the hours of operation.
Creative thinking under low time pressure allows people to how creative thinking that is more oriented towards generating or exploring ideas.
I would consider this place to have low time pressure, as they do provide people the ability to take your creative artwork home to finish or to come back another day to finish it.

My personal experience with this place
I've been to the Mess Studio three times.
During my time at the Mess Studio, I was able be creative and paint anything that I wanted.
Each time I was I was at the Mess Studio, I was open to meeting new people and conversing with others not only about art, but also about life topics.
