Darius submited Miletus, who asked for help from the other Greek poleis for help. Only Athens and Eritrea helped Miletus. The Persians destroyed Miletus in 494 BC
Darius sent a great army to Greece to punish Athens and Eritrea. The battle took place in 490 BC in the Marathon plain. The Athenians were less, but they were more organized (they were commanded by General Milziade)
