The Age of Enlightenment
The Age of Enlightenment was the period of time wherein the people developed new ideas about the human existence.

It was an important time period, as the enlightenment period influenced the leaders in Europe but had a great influence over the Americans who wanted independence.
Founding Fathers instilled many of the Enlightenment ideas from which the America's Constitution recognized that citizens were born with basic rights.
Basic rights included the right to liberty, right to life and right to property.
The American Constitution gave citizens the power to vote and instilled the ideology of Republicanism.
The ideology of American Constitution was that of country's leader being chosen by the citizens in a general election.
It was important as it represented that basic rights which belong to the citizens and the Consent of the Governed.
Consent of the Governed is wherein the enlightenment thinkers believed that the Government had a responsibility to hold up their end of the Social Contract. If a Government failed, then citizens would no onger agree to be governed and they would have the right to revolt.
The Age of Enlightenment was based on the people's ideologies who gathered in salons to discuss philosophy and ways to improve the human experience.
It was based on the discovery of the natural Laws which will not only, govern the country but also, governed human society.

The Age of Enlightenment highly relied on the human reasoning and the ability of the mind to think through problems, for the better of the society.

Example: An encyclopaedia that was edited by Denis Diderot, who proposed that it should contain all the human knowledge in it, so as to give the individuals a form of free access to information so as to increase their ability to question.
Basis of the Enlightenment Period was by Isaac Newton, who proved that a mathematical evaluation of the universe shows that the universe is perfect. If that is true, individuals can understand the Laws that govern the society
Outcomes
Outcomes were different as the individuals wished to have absolutism form of Government wherein there was an absolute ruler who carried out enlightenment ideology.

Two documents were prescribed consisting the ideologies of the Enlightenment era which is the Declaration of Independence, claiming the presence of natural Laws which all must follow and adhere to. The other document is that of the US Constitution, which took the political ideals of the Enlightenment era.

Reason Individuals tend to use emotion rather than reason, to change the world and perspective. Science was used as it highly, uses the order of reasoning.
Science is used as it uses order and the ability to challenge the present situations in an orderly manner which raises the influence over perspectives of individuals.
Progress As challenges are predispositioned through the presence of new ideologies, it leads to the progress in the environment and political ideology.
Liberty Liberty is necessary in using the rational capacity and be able to experiment with science and to be able to discuss ideas that can help in the development of the society.
Toleration Being able to accept aspects of someone else such as their thinking, their perspectives, their ideologies, their religion is the tolerance required which challenge the world around them.
An example is the Montesquieu designed a Government based on reasoning wherein he was able to base the needed Government upon empirical understanding of human nature. His goal was to design a Government that is based around the human selfishness because that is the way of thw world.
