Robert Frost
Nature
"An Encounter"
repetition- "And scurf of plants, and weary and over-heated,
And sorry I ever left the road I knew"
he uses repetition of "and" to show his tiredness because when you're tired, you repeat words because you feel worn out
Imagery - "Choked with oil of cedar
And scurf of plants, and weary and over-heated"
This imagery displays a struggle with nature
metaphor- "i paused and rested on a sort of hook that had me by the coat as good as seated"
he compares himself to a coat being hung up because hes taking a rest and the way the tree looked like a hanger
Why this correlates with nature: He's a romantic. he immersed himself in nature and saw his own life through the physical aspects that nature provides to the human eye. He did this to briefly escape the reality of his life.
