Your friends are meeting at the mall to play lasertag really like to join them. They have agreed to wait twenty minutes for you to get there. You rush downstairs with the intention of asking your parents to drop you off at the mall. You find that your parents are enjoying a romantic dinner. You immediately demand that someone drive you to the mall. Your parents ask you to wait, but you insist. Your parents send you to your room instead of taking you to the mall. Your initial feeling is that your parents are so unfair to you, because now you will not be able to join your friends.

Seeing
I am seeing the situation. I am seeing that my parents love me. I am seeing that they were having some time together.
Reframing
I understand that my parents were just upset because they were enjoying their time together and I was not considering their situation.

I am focusing on my thoughts. I am quieting my mind, considering my emotional state and thinking about the situation. I am seeing that my parents love me and were spending time together. I am caring about my parents, because I love them and want them to be happy. I am envisioning myself connecting with my parents and deeping my relationship with them by fixing this situation. I am reframing the situation. I was impatient and interrupted a special time for my parents. I will apologize to them and deepen my relationship with them.
