- - - - Working individually, students write their own folktales based on the story read in week 1. To help organize their thoughts students will beginning a story board template. :
        
        Part 1: answer an array of opened ended questions about folktales, the story read, and grammar. Part 2: read an unseen folktale and make a story board of it in order as well as writing super sentences about each picture.
  - - - As individuals, students write their own folktale based on the story read during week 1. Students are provided with a template to organize thoughts and must draw pictures of the story in order to give them a clear picture of their ideas before they begin writing the story.
        
        Part 1: answer an array of open and closed questions about folktales, the story read, and grammar. Part 2: read an unseen folktale and answer a multiple array of questions about the unseen folktale and create a story board.
  - - - Working individually students write their own folktale based on the story they read in their reading group. The story should include 4 of the 6 characteristics of folktales and super sentences, as well as dialogue.
        
        Part 1: answer an array of opened ended questions about folktales, the story read, and grammar.
        Part 2: read another folktale provided by the teacher and make a venn diagram of differences and similarities between the 2 stories.
