Genes (Dominant (Def- A trait that is shown whenever it exist in the gene.…
Genes
-
Punnet Squares
-
Example- If both parents were heterozygous, then, according to the punnet square, the child would have a 75% chance to show the dominant trait, and a mere 25% chance to show the recessive.
Alleles
-
Def-Alternate form of a gene that holds a trait, the allele can be either dominant or recessive. There are 2 in each gene.
-
Phenotype
Def-A phenotype is what is seen, this is effected by the environment and the genotype.
Example- An example of this is the melanin increasing in the body due to the sun and the original color.
-
Heterozygous
Having one of each allele, 1 dominant and 1 recessive
Mendel
Gregory Mendel, an Austrian Monk, discovered heredity, the idea of characteristics being passed down from generation.

- Is it possible to have a gene change from environment after birth.?
- Can 2 opposite alleles fuse, or go together?
- Can genes be hidden until older age?
