Winning the challenge will be defined as completing the escape room first. All students will be required to finish the escape room as it is a review activity, but there will ultimately be a prize for finishing first. In this game, winning is escaping Ms. Marks' room and entering a high school language arts classroom.
Students will participate as a table group. They will use a flipchart as the main mode of gaming and will participate in challenges throughout the game in order to escape at the end.
The entertainment of this game will be that it reflects the classroom in which my students are currently in. They will relate to the visuals and to the expectations. They will also relate to the goal as their goal is to literally get to high school.
The world will appear to be my classroom, which is decorated in a Wizard of Oz theme.

Evaluation/ Analysis
Both games will be evaluated by having students test play the game. Ultimately, it will be necessary to see a group of students work through each challenge to ensure the codes for each level make sense, and that they are able to complete the escape room within one class period. After an initial test, the entire class will play the game. Even though that is the ultimate goal of this game, it will be re-evaluated for future use.
Winning the challenge will be defined as completing the escape room first. All students will be required to finish the escape room as it is a review activity, but there will ultimately be a prize for finishing first. In this game, winning is Truman escaping the apartment and making it to sunset where Ms. Marks is waiting.

The entertainment will come from the storyline of Truman trying to get to sunset. Many of my students have met my dog and would find enjoyment based on that.
The world will be as my dog Truman sees it - my apartment, the road to the beach, and ultimately the beach at sunset.
