5 students who have answered all the questions correctly
Self directed learning on friction
In this activity, the students will receive a handout about Friction with the basic theory and a quiz at the end. They will have to read it individually, work in pairs or groups of three to discuss the terminology and the new concept and then answer to the quiz individually.
They will be prepared for the next lesson when each of them will be the group leader of working groups where they will practically investigate friction. Their role will be to introduce and explain the topic to their teammates and they will then investigate the effect of mass and surface on the friction
Investigate the effect of friction on the favorite sport
In this activity, the students will be given the freedom of working on their IPad to research on their favourite sport and how friction is involved in it. They will have to prepare a poster, a pic collage or a video explaining their findings. They will present their work in front of the class when friction is the main topic.
Forces in motion simulation lab
In this activity, the students will go on the BBC Bitesize webpage and work on a simulation about the effect of the mass on the distance covered by different parachutes.
They will be challenged with a problem to solve in an unfamiliar situation.
12 students who have answered a from 60 to 80% of the questions correctly
Stations on forces to practically investigate the different kind of forces
In this practical investigation the students work on a worksheet from Exploring science (7Ka(2)): they are required to practically test some aspects on forces and then answer to the questions. This will deepen their knowledge with the fun of the practical activity.
Exploring science worksheet on forces: The forces are with us
The worksheet 7Ka(1) is a revision worksheet on calculation of forces and gravity. This will take the students to better understand the correlation between gravity and weight and the difference between mass and weight.
Watch the BrainPop video about forces and answer to the challenge quiz and work out the calculation of the activity one and two

)
This video is a good introduction about forces, with many definitions and explanation and the students usually love watching these videos. The quiz and the activities (Label it and Star Diagram) allow the students to focus on their learning and apply what they have learned during the video while answering questions.
5 students who have answered less than 60% of the questions correctly
Watch the BrainPop video about forces and answer to the revision quiz and the activities on the vocabulary and on the forces
(

)
This video is a good introduction about forces, with many definitions and explanation. A great thing about it is that the students can choose whether to use subtitles or not. The subtitles will help them in the comprehension of the topic. The quiz and the activities (Define and Star Diagram) allow the students to focus on their learning and apply what they have learned during the video while answering questions. The vocabulary activity is a very useful tool for both EAL and LS students since in both cases the comprehension of the language needs to be enhanced.
Revision lesson with the teacher on vocabulary and terminology
The students will seat with the science teacher in a small group and talk and discuss about forces. The teacher will ask questions to test the level of understanding and to see where the main problems are. Activities like games, worksheets and crosswords will them be given to the students to work on the lacking aspects of the topic.
Stations on forces to practically investigate the different kind of forces with direct supervision of the EAL and LS teacher
This practical investigation is the same as for the students who have answered between 60 and 80% of the questions. The differentiation here is the support of the EAL and LS teachers. The students will work under direct supervision and will be taken through the steps and the questions, making sure that all questions are understood and that especially for the EAL students that the vocabulary is known.
