Reflecting in DiPS Ramsey project
GOOD
new contacts created who are easy to work with (Tracy) and 'get it'
Scope
We know we want to reduce obesity in children of X age in E160 area by X%
Drilled down really low to identify target area
wouldn't have gone that low before, or thought to
Tried different methods of research (photo journals, interviews) and then analysed this
Tried a couple of events, low cost - outdoor and cooking
Learnt we 'have to go to them' to engage, can't expect people to come to us because they wont
BAD
Clashed with some orgs (RNT)
thought they understood and got it, were more reluctant as time went on
Scope
Still too wide
Not enough engagement with school/s
Some attendees didn't offer much
HDC don't have enough traction in this issue - doesn't directly affect us like it does NHS
Needed stronger governance
Contacts kept changing in some orgs
Learnt we had to go to them, which we sort of did by organising events in Ramsey, but still not far enough
Roles and responsibilities not clear of the group
No deadlines or timeframes set against what we wanted to achieve
IDEAS
Get a commitment from the orgs we work with, how does it link into them achieving their objectives
Go back to first diamond
Use JL more to get in contact with people if needed
Contact other DiPS councils to find out how they got on
Join forces with the schools
Branded as wanting to solve obesity in Ramsey, rebrand as more of a network?
What can be achieved in 3 months? and work backwards?
