Differentiation
Think- Pair-Share
Students in this group will think about the topic of stretching. Then they will be paired with another student from this group and talk about their results. Then the pairs will share with the rest of the class. This type of strategy will help this group display the knowledge that they have and develop higher order thinking skills by thinking about the topic, sharing with their peers and hearing the results of others in the class.
Demonstrations/Discussions
Students in this group will demonstrate different types of stretches and then discuss why they are done.
Work Backwards
Students in this group will use higher order thinking skills to guess or think of what came next or the previous action from an end result . An example would be what happened in that video? (as a result of not stretching and doing a lot of hard exercises)

When working backwards students may see the end clip of the video or a picture of the end result. Then after giving their ideas will see the whole sequence of pictures or the whole video to check their answers.
Assessments
Partner Quiz
- Students will demonstrate and discuss stretches and then evaluate each other.
Self-evaluation
- Students are to use a checklist and evaluate how they performed their stretches and warm up.
Game Activities
- Students will play a matching game with group 3's task cards to match the written description to the illustrated action.
Group 3 Students with limited knowledge

Task Cards
Students in this group will be given task cards that have either pictures, examples, questions or definitions for the student to complete a task. Some cards are multiple choice, short answer or demonstration to appeal to various learning styles as well as include the students varying reading, language, and comprehension levels.
Learning stations
This group of students will move to different stations that have a variety of equipment/materials so they can practice their skills and improve their knowledge of stretching. These stations can be set up with the same information but can be displayed in different ways and with different levels of complexity. For example the stations could be set up with materials to help stretch the calves but have different materials. 1. could use the wall, another would require a partner stretch, another the use of a towel or rope etc.
Assessments
Picture Interpretation
- Students will look at an illustration to draw a conclusion as to what stretch or warm up exercise is being done and or what part of the body is being stretched.
Ipad Kahoot quiz
-Students will need the questions on the Kahoot quiz and pick the best answer out of multiple choices.
Yes/No Cards
- Students will use yes/no cards to answer verbal questions or to signal that they agree or disagree with the way a stretch or warm up is demonstrated.

Differentiation
Tiered Activities or Assignments
Students in this group will be given activities or assignments that are advanced or include more challenging work. These students may be asked to discuss their answers in length, give more detail, or perform an exercise that is at an intermediate or advanced level.
Prediction
In this group students will use their thinking skills to predict what has or will happen. An example is the students seeing a personstanding with a pair of shoes in his hands. The students are to predict what the person is going to do and what they might need to do it.
Demonstrations/Discussions
Students in this group will demonstrate different types of stretches and then discuss the importance of stretching, what stretches can be done for specific activities and what body part it stretches.

)
Assessments
Assessments that will be used to track students' learning throughout the unit.
Guess box
- Students will get a sheet that has 3-4 boxes empty in a 6 box illustration. Students are to complete the process (through demonstration) of next steps in stretching or warming up.
Self-evaluation
- Students are to use a checklist and evaluate how they performed their stretches and warm up.
3,2,1
- Students will write 3 ideas they have about stretching and warming up, they will give 2 examples or reasons to stretch and warm up, and 1 question they have about or would like to know about stretching and warming up.
