How was your G+ vacation? Was Hyperdoc a useful resource? Thoughts on Adobe Spark?
Feedback, deeply appreciated*
I enjoyed the G+ vacation. I find that when using G+ I spend more time trying to navigate through the posts and comments than I do reflecting, creating, or commenting myself. The ever changing location of posts is difficult for me. I liked Adobe Spark far more than I originally thought I would. I actually put off the rant and the TL;DR assignment because I did not want to have to record something. However, once I figured out how to use the tool, which was very easy I enjoyed it and have already thought of ways I can make it work for me. The hyperdoc was interesting as I have never used one before. If I were trying to link out to multiple google docs I would try to use it, but if that were not the case I would likely use something else. LH

My lens:"...but was the lesson effective? And if you think it was how do you know?" Quote retrieved from here with thanks to Seminar 2 facilitators
I liked the Hyperdoc. It was simple and easy to follow. It would work well for sequentially planned activities. It may be a challenge for something more flexibly structured (I'm thinking inquiry-based learning). Adobe Spark was much easier than I thought and the product seemed very polished given the low technical skills required. I plan to share this with students. I appreciated the G+ vacation as I find the notifications overwhelming and it can be challenging to navigate, taking more time that necessary. At the same time though, I find I am not as in tune with what others are sharing . MM
I enjoyed Adobe Spark. I like it more than Powtoon. For some reason, Hyperdocs confuses me. The layout was weird for me. I may come around, but I prefer a simple Google Doc. at this point. I like the comment feature within it. It is clear who is talking and what they are referencing (not that it wasn't clear in hyperdocs - it just wasn't visually appealing to me). I made a copy to "make my own" but the grids wouldn't delete. Probably this is user error, and connected to the fact that I don't have time to really figure Hyperdocs out... but if I need the time, is it worth it? AW
I liked Adobe Spark very much. It is easy to follow and use. These days I have some difficulty in having my students speak to share their ideas with each other because they are too shy and too afraid of making mistakes. However, with Adobe Spark, I think I can make a difference. Also, I can make the place to share the videos they create and exchanging some comments using elink and hyper docs. A lot of inspirations! Thanks week 3 team! AK
I liked the HyperDoc, but would make two comments for future use:
1) Would be excellent for a unit or lesson, but not for an entire course. Task-oriented, and chronological.
2) Would like to try a splashier, more vibrant version (we were trying to keep within a low-key, minimalist approach this week) Nicole
I would still break up the cohort to make overall posts more manageable, but perhaps just two groups instead of four mini-cohorts? Would allow for more engagement, I think. Nicole I tend to agree with Nicole on this. As the cohort isn't very big, two groups would have allowed for more engagement. Sandy
I definitely enjoyed the straightforward easy to follow task 1, 2, 3 etc.layout and can see how it would be useful in the delivery of parts of a course. I did miss the G+ 'community' though - I really missed the connection and collaboration that happens there. I enjoyed trying adobe spark - it was new to me! I put off the rant for a while - I felt about intimidated about that one, but once I got the ball rolling it was a really neat activity and I loved to hear what others had to say. I really loved the 'be a curator' I would have loved to have see what others (outside of our group) did for this. - TL
I enjoyed using the hyperdoc, as I could easily get to the tasks and docs that went with them. I didn't have to scroll through too much to find what I as looking for. Sandy
The hyperdoc was a nice change, just to try something different, but I do prefer G+. I think it is the layout or something. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just fits my style better. I liked that you had everything so organized in the hyperdoc (task 1,2...). It made it really easy to follow. -JR
I missed G+ a LOT. I liked the hyperdoc, and the spark videos and other good stuff but coming back from the last week and a bit, I was really excited to see everyone and take part in the conversations - but there weren't any. It was like walking into an empty classroom when you expected people to be there. You walk around a little, put down your books, maybe go check the door see if you are in the right place. I missed being able to react to others posts in an act-react fashion and feed one another's ideas. Without the interaction in G+ I felt a lot more isolated.
