some positions may not be suitable for longer hours because of increased risks of injuries or errors

Jobs Sharing
Job sharing or work sharing is an employment arrangement where typically two people are retained on a part-time or reduced-time basis to perform a job normally fulfilled by one person working full-time. One person could be working the in the morning while the other workring ae night
Advantage

Employees who are comfortable balancing life responsibilities experience less stress and more work satisfaction.
Coverage for ill children and other family matters is easier when the job share partner is available to fill in.

Disadvantage
You are dealing with two employees in a job share. If the employees are not compatible, fail to share a work style, keep coworkers and customers uninformed and uncomfortable with two approaches, you are ultimately responsible for dealing with the job share partners.
If the job share partners are not compatible personalities who genuinely like each other and can work together well, the job share will not work
