Human body systems
Cardiovascular system: delivers oxygen and nutrients to the body and equalizes temperature. Heart and blood vessels.
Lymphatic system: Returns fluid to blood and fights pathogens. Lymph nodes, thymus, spleen, and lymphatic vessels.
Endocrine system: Secretes hormones, and regulates the body. pituitary gland, adrenal gland, thyroid gland, pancreas, and testes/ovaries
Respiratory system: Provides oxygen for blood and removes carbon dioxide. Lungs, Nasal passage, and trachea.
Nervous system: Detects sensory information, and provides appropriate responses. Brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves
Digestive system: processes food, and removes waste from the body. Stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, and gall bladder.
Muscular system: Enables movement, and provides heat. Skeletal muscle and tendons.
Urinary system: Controls water levels, and removes waste from blood and excretes them. Kidneys, and urinary bladder.
Skeletal system: supports the body, and allows movement with the help of skeletal muscle. Contains bones, cartilage and joints.
Female reproductive system: Produces hormones and gametes, supports embryo/fetus, and produces milk for infant. Mammary glands, ovaries, and uterus.
Integumentary system: Covers and protects the body, and contains sensory receptors. Contains hair, nails and skin.
Male reproductive system: Produces sex hormones and gametes, and delivers them to the female. Testes, and epididymus.
