The Breakfast Club Reimagining - Hallway Chase Scene

MY IDEA

Overall look will be quite dark

Hallway Scene in The Breakfast Club

In this scene in the original , the characters are running away from the principal because they aren't in the library and the principal doesn't know but every corner that they turn, he's there

This is a comedic scene as the audience will laugh every time that they see the principal when they turn a corner

I want to keep the underlying idea the same (they are running away from the principal) however, I will change it so that the principal knows that the characters are out of the library therefore he is chasing them

Rather than a comedic scene, make it more horror like

Dialogue the same

Horror music instead of upbeat music

Will help communicate to the audience this scene is supposed to be more serious

BUT still have comedic elements

Editing will be overdramatic

Similar to Edgar Wright's editing

Whip pan and crash zoom when the principal and characters see each other and look at each other

The costumes for each character will corrolate with the original character's costumes

I will colour grade to up the contrast of my reimagining and to make it look more realistic

Characters will wear the modern version of their social group that they represent

Allison- Emo

Claire- 2019 Popular Girl

Bender- Grunge, Edgy teen

Brian - Modern day 'nerd'

Andy- Roadman

The principal will be dressed in a similar way as this hasn't changed

Flannel shirt with band t-shirt and black skinny/ ripped jeans. Preferably a beanie on head

White crop top, blue skinny jeans and nike air max 97

Black eyeliner and fringe but with similar clothing to Bender's character

Checked shirt underneath a black jumper and skinny jeans

My location will be in the corridors of UTC

This is because this does look like a British school and is the only available location that I have that follows the requirements of the brief

I will use the music from the corridor scene in The Shining when the Principal and the characters spot each other
