Causes of WWII

Fascism
After WWI some countries were taken over by dictators, these dictators all wanted to expand their empire and get new land for their people.

Fascists are against democracy. Their aim is to prepare the nation for armed conflict, and to respond to economic difficulties.
Treaty of Versailles

The treaty was a peace treaty between the nations of Japan, Britain, Germany, France, USA, Austria after WWI. The treaty was made in 1919.

The Great Depression
Before WWII there was a period called the great depression. Many, many countries suffering economically. Jobs were hard to have and people were having to live on spares. Governments were struggling from this and were unstable.

At the lowest point during the great depression(1933) approximately 15 million americans were unemployed.
Japanese expansion

Japan launched a surprise attack on Hawaii, USA in 1941. The attack created severe damage. Later on the US declared war on Japan.
Failure of Appeasement
After WWI obviously most countries did not want another war and were hoping to stay in peace. So they tried to make aggressive countries such as Germany and Italy happy by not stopping them from getting what they want.
