Yalta Conference
Purpose was to decide how Europe would be organized after WWII
They decided to divide Germany into 4 zones, put Nazi's on Trial, set a Polish government, help Europeans, and establish a commission to discuss Germans reputation.
Led by Franklin D. Roosevelt (US), Winston Churchill (UK), and Joseph Stalin (USSR)
Also Stalin was supposed to join the war with the US against Japan, and join the United Nations. In return he would get land from Germany, Poland, and Japan and gain control of Manchuria and N. Korea. None of these were fulfilled.
Potsdam Conference
meeting of the Big 3 after Germany's surrender. US tries to "get tough with USSR" because they have the atomic bomb now
Agreements
Agreed to divide Germany into 4 zones. Poland gives up more land to USSR. And Germans in Poland have to go back to Germany.
