Comic Genres
Horror
They are graphic novels, are black and white comic magazines,comic books and manga focusing on horror fiction.
In the US market, horro comic books reached their peak in the late 1940s through the mid 1950s
Horror comic books usually include: detective and crime comics, and sometimes monsters like ghouls and vampires
The colour schemes are quite dark and pictures are drawn to be quite realistic. This highlights the grotesque story that follows. The font often reflects the horror of the story.

Superhero

The Genre was introduced in the 1930s and gained extreme popularity within the 1940s. They are still popular and many have become movies since then.
The comics in this genre are usually really bright and colourful, consisting of colours such as red, blue and yellow that pop

Manga
In manga, the characters often have exaggerated facial features such as big eyes and almond shaped face. They often also have exaggerated facial expressions to emphasise their emotions.
In Japan, Manga art is highly respected for its ability to create distinctive characters and imaginative stories
These can consist of any genre. For instance: action, horror romance, etc.
Popular examples include: Naruto, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, fairytail, Death note etc. Many of these have become so popular that they've become animated series known as 'anime'
Romance
Romance comics is a comics genre often include many complications such as jelousy, marriage, devorce, betrayal and heartache
Design: the people are drawn to be quite realistic. the fonts are more soft and is not too exaggerated which could act as a facade to the actual plot.
The colours are quite similar to real life and there is no specific colour scheme, they are drawn slightly darker than realistic drawings
Examples: Blankets, Fresh Romance, Soppy
Action
American comic books/magazines series that introduced superman; one of the first major superhero characters.
Similar to superhero comics, they are really colourful and are in a lot of detail. They have bright colours to pop and there isn't a lot of speech to showcase the illustrations. They are not often realistic
Examples: Teen Titans, Wonder Woman
Non-Fiction

The illustrations are quite plain and simple, They are usually black and white. They contain more text than other genres
Examples: The photographer smile, Palestine, Influencing Machine
