Gregor Mendel
History
Gregor Mendel was an Austrian scientist and monk. He was the first scientist who thoroughly studied genetics. He did this by analyzing Pea plants in his garden. He realized that Pea plants inherited different traits from color of seeds, color of the flowers, and color and shape of the pods.
