Differentiation Strategies For...
Students with some knowledge but in need of Higher order thinking skills. (Scored between 50 and 75 percent)
Students work in small groups to solve a set of riddles relating to the topic
Students watch the presentations from the students who have limited knowledge
Student pairs group up with a pair from the group with limited knowledge and give peer feedback
Assessment
Students completed riddle solutions are reviewed and graded by the teacher
Students submit evaluation and written feedback for the presentations they saw. This is assessed for understanding by the teacher.
Students take another assessment similar in content to the pre-assessment to assess progress
Students who have limited knowledge. (Scored less than 50 percent)
Students prepare a presentation on Quadratics.
Students Deliver their presentations for the students with some knowledge but in need of higher order thinking skills

Presentation is graded by teacher against a rubric supplied to students prior to presentation creation

Students who answered most questions correctly have demonstrated that they are ready for more independent and in depth learning. They are assigned a project to give them the chance to delve deeper into the topic.
Assessments
Students sit an assessment on complex numbers similar to the pre-assessment but with different content.
The teacher will gather information about students' prior knowledge during the discussion in the teaching phase and the guided practice phase of the lesson.
During the closing activity, look at the answers students write on their white boards. Questions and answers are including the Closure section.
Check answers of the independent practice worksheet. Look for common mistakes, and address those in class the next day.
