Geology
What can fossils tell scientists about different kinds of living things that existed in Earth’s past?
How do fossils help scientists compare different species?
Fossils are found in sedimenry rock, because other types of rock would have destroyed the fossils.
Fossils can tell us how long life has been on earth. They can also tell us what organisms interacted with eathother. They can tell us how organisms have evolved.
Fossils can tell us how different species are related by their anatomy. Scientists can see what their bone structures have in common.
Fossils can show the difference in bone stucture through fossils. BY monitoring the diversity of fossils, you can detect mass/major extinctions.

What evidence do we have to show the age of the Earth?
How are the different types of rocks and minerals dispersed?

What evidence exists that shows us the age of the Earth? How do scientists use each piece of evidence to determine earth’s age
Index fossils are fossils that are in the same rock strata across a wide variety of places. These index fossils help us know when certain organisms lived together. Index fossils They are great for us to organize these animals into periods, and see what lived at what time.
In Rock Strata, scientist can compare the age of rock with 3 rules. (Law of superposition, Law of crosscutting, Law of Inclusions.) These laws help us to compare different rocks and see what is older and younger than others. By comparing rock strata, we can see what happened at that time. By comparing rocks, we can organize the rocks into periods of time.
Major Events helped us mark the start of the different eons, and differentiate it from each other. It helped us organize them into different eons, and to mark the start of new eons.
How have geoscience processes (earthquakes, volcanoes, rock cycle) changed the Earth’s surface?
What geological processes have shaped the surface of the Earth and created natural resources? Explain how.
Volcano: Magma erupts out of volcanoes, turning into lava later hardening into rock, adding to the earth's surface. If a volcano collapses, it can cause a crater. Volcanoes provide nutrients to the soil. Diamonds are brought to the surface from volcanoes. Gold is found around volcanoes.
