Pre- Assessment for Differentiation
5 students who answered the majority of questions correctly and appear to have some back ground on the topic
Innovate differentiation strategies
students will use Khan Academy lessons: I will assign to them an addition and word problems for higher level concept
Assessment for tracking learning/progress
*Khan academy unit quizzes and our regular unit quizzes.
Students will have a choice on which topic they opt to explore more deeply.
More independent activities and more detailed and complex tasks
12 students who have some knowledge about the topic but need to develop high order thinking skills.

In class students will do a number of activities which focus on addition and word problems.
Math centers games: Math playground game and splash math in pairs to reinforce their problem solving skills.
These students will work with each other and with the teache
Assessment to tracking learning progress.
Regular unit quizzes to assess for progress. Also Khan academy quizzes to their level allow me to see their progress and homework assignment.
5 students who appear to have limited knowledge about the topic
Innovate differentiation strategies.
I will work through their worksheet with use of math manipulatives to help explain the concept and allow them physically work through problems using these tools.
Assessment to tracking learning/ progress
Visual unit quizzes, homework checks and through game beased learning.
3 students are struggling with language and are at different reading levels.
Spalsh math and i will choose quizlet but low level to review the init's vocabulary ( add together, less then, more than,...) and allow them to see the images and hear the questions, so they can make connections easier, and use the speech function for learning.
Additional assessment for tracking: Checking quizlet and splash math progress on the backend, and 1 on 1 check ins, I will verbally ask studnets questions to determine if they are on track.
2 students who have little to no comprehension of the topic and need to be tested further for special needs.
work with teacher 2:1 with math play ground and splash game. I will first model the games myself and then monitor their play and be there to help them work through problems. If they still cannot make progress I will contact my learning support specialist to have begin the process to create an individual learning plan.
Additional assessment for tracking: 1on 1 check ins with learning specialist with individualized assessments.
