The army was opposed to the WGov. and the government needed the army to be on their side if anyone else were to attack them.
The Kapp Putsch happened because Nationalists disliked the new democratic style of government. They wanted the Kaiser because he was more decisive.

Why? they invaded because the German Gov. were unable to make it's first reparations payment. The initial response to this invasion was passive resistance, meaning that the workers went on strike, refusing to work for any of the foreign army of occupation.

85% of Germany suffered from hyperinflation, people with savings, low income families, and elderly people. These people pensions' were fixed so their money couldn't go very far when needing to buy things.
