Word Choice
Veracity and Secrecy
Spread knowledge around, and have characters direct their information to different people, so the audience is interested, and there becomes conflict.
Some words sound more veritable than others. Use them wisely to perhaps confuse the reader, but then have truth unveil itself later.
In dialogue, tone plays a large role in whether the speech sound like truth or lies.
Strange and ambiguous words and ideas are sometimes necessary to cause conflict and keep the reader engaged.

Physical Descriptions
Physical descriptions should be more down to earth, and there is less room for creativity since it must simply describe the object.
-
When choosing words to describe physical objects, be sure to no exaggerate or repeat over and over: state the idea, and be accurate.
Grammar
Punctuation should always correlate with the correct rules of grammar (yes this isn't words but it is still important).
-
When choosing words, make sure they fit grammatically with the context.
Clarity and sense
-
Quality over quantity
Never ramble on and on with a ton of writing when you can encapsulate that whole idea with maybe a single word.
Concision is very important. Choose words that make sense with what you are trying to say, rather than using other, less matching words to describe.

Volume
Exclamation
Through the use of proper exclamation and punctuation, you can increase or decrease the volume of words. This can draw more attention to some ideas over others.
Sound
In pieces of writing especially like poems, you have to think more than just the meaning of words, but also the way they sound.
Some words with hard consonants or stretched vowels just sound louder in your head. When they are read, they draw more attention, or use softer words to create a more subtle, calming mood. Words are designed this way
Power and Strength
-
Don't use the same word over and over, or else the strength of that word diminishes, and in drains into something monotonous and weak.
Character Descriptions
-
These types of words can be non-formal, perhaps unexpected words. Feel free to play around with character descriptions, as long as it matches the character.
