INTRODUCTION
At the end of 17th century, a subject called linguistics began to emerge as a new field of scientific research, with language analysis as its focus. It is the systematic study of language. The scope of linguistics covers a wide range of topics. Psycholinguistics is the study of the mental processes underlying the acto of speech. Both psycology ans psycholonguistics have contributed greatly to current foreign language teaching. There is a proliferation of approaches and methods that reflects the commitment to finding more efficient and more effective ways of teaching languages. The main approach is the Communicative Approach. Another influential approach is the Natural Approach.
