- - - - Assign a buddy or partner this allows the student to become more sociable as they now have a buddy and someone to speak to and help them which will also help with their confidence
      - Talk with parent this should always be the first
        to speak to parents about the problem and see if you can perhaps get to the root of the problem since parents know their children best
      - rewards and incentive system having a reward system which allows the student to receive stars or stickers whenever they actively participate in the classroom encourages them to be involved and participate in class
      - Teach relationship skills this is especially important for students who don't participate as it helps them to build relationships and become more comfortable with their peers which increases confidence
      - praise when participates positive reinforcement will always be the most effective way to deal with behavior issues as kids respond to praise and knowing they are improving or doing good which in turn inspires them to be better
      - Teach coping skills teaching coping skills is a great strategy to teach students how to cope in a new environment and how to handle situations which could be the cause to their lack of participation as they are shy or nervous.
