Unlike the catholic church, Buddhists and Hindus believe in arranged marriages. neighbors and friends can arrange marriage for their children. One quote from the textbook I found was “In the west, you marry who you love. In India, you love who you marry”. Much like the 10 commandments from the catholic church, Buddhists have expectations like children are expected to obey they parents and preserve family traditions. The commandment similar is thou must obey thy mother and father. Also Buddhists believe in Karma which means do good and good will come to you. This is related to the christian golden rule, treat others the way you want to be treated.

We are called to dialogue with the religions of Asia to keep peace in the world and to expand our knowledge on religion. Some ways you could dialogue with someone that follows an Asian religion is by sharing traditions that you partake in and talk about rituals. One example is how pope Francis met up with Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, Sikhs in a conference where they spoke about similarities from their religions.
