How does gender affect religious beliefs
The Pew Research Center finds that across the globe, women are often more likely to be religious, to pray and find religion important in their lives. Of course, this could be because of their limited opportunities. "Women who are in the labor force are more like men in religiosity. Women out of the labor force tend to be more religious," -Conrad Hackett with PRC. "Part of that might be because they're part of a religious group that enforces the power of women being at home."
68% of seculars are men, not a very balanced number.
:star: There is so much discrimination against people with low education and people who aren't the same race or gender as others. Most seculars are white men, but that needs to change. As people try their best to help everyone everywhere, they will teach about religion, telling people it's okay to be who they are, how religion isn't anything
Vocabulary/definitions
"Secularism"- Secular, meaning "of or relating to the physical world and not the spiritual world" and/or "not religious". From the Latin word meaning "generation/age/century". It evolved to mean "the present world", defining the religious leaders who worked in the churches. Today, the meaning is "not religious"
"Atheist"- Atheist is also a Greek work, meaning "a person who believes that God does not exist".
(these are all my definitions. no plagiarism is happening)
Agnostic originates from the Greek word "unknown or unknowable". Basically, the religious based definition of an agnostic person is someone who does not have a solid belief about God, whether he exists or not.
How does race affect religious beliefs
78% of atheists are white, which makes it hard for any nonwhite person to identify as an atheist.
"the number of black and Latino youth with access to quality science and math education is still abysmally low." This means that all those who have low education have way less economic opportunities and don't understand God isn't everything
They are not given a chance to decide what they can do
How does education affect religious beliefs
Most atheists in many places tend to be extremely intelligent people who have college degrees. This shows that education helps you understand that God isn't everything.
There are theories as to why people change their beliefs in a mass population. Atheism is related to education, like how academically successful they are, or understanding of beliefs around the world.
Regions most affected by secularism
Atheists and agnostics are most common in the Western regions. North America has many seculars. It has gained so many more since 2005.
