Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme
(RWBCIS).
Comprehensive crop insurance cover against
non-preventable natural risks
at an affordable rate to farmers.
Compulsory for loanee farmers
availing crop loans for notified crops in notified areas and
voluntary for non-loanee
farmers.
Uniform maximum premium :
2% - Kharif, 1.5% - Rabi and 5%- commercial/horticultural crops.
The difference between premium and the rate of insurance charges payable by farmers is provided as subsidy and shared
equally
by the Centre and State.
