Tectonic and Weather hazards revision
Ring of fire
The ring of fire is a major area in the basin of the pacific ocean where a large number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.
Distribution of earthquakes and Volcanoes
Earthquakes and volcanoes are distributed along plate boundaries, but particularly near the ring of fire.where the Pacific plate borders multiple other plates. Where the two plates meet are destructive boundaries. Here the heavier Pacific plate is being forced under the lighter continental plates.

What is a a hazard risk?
A hazard risk is a chance or probability of being affected by a natural event.
Urbanisation
densely populated areas are at great risk from natural events such as earthquakes and tropical cyclones. 2010 Haiti earthquake destroyed much of the capital of Port Au Prince.
Poverty
People living in poverty may live in poor housing conditions. for example in Peru, a shortage of housing has led to people building unstable slopes prone to flooding and landslides
Climate change
Rising sea levels and more frequent droughts.
