There are four stages of development that Piaget discussed. Sensory Motor; in which "children learn though their senses" (Mcblain, 2018. pg.53) in which children explore using their taste, smell and visually recognising items through repetitive play. The Preoperational Stage in which language is delveoping through using symbols and imagination play. Piaget suggests that a child's individual thinking can be restrained by differentiation, through assimilation and accommodation. The Concrete operational stage in which individuals problem solving and logic application will start to function in different situations. along with this, horizontal decalage will show the children's individuality through strengths and weaknesses. , Formal operational stages in which it is believed that the children will be at the highest level of development, the individuals within this stage will start to "test hypotheses, become objective and reflect in their thinking" (McBlain, 2018, pg.55)
