- - - - within the concrete operation stage, piaget insisted the child would be fully engaged with operational thinking, to be more rational about decisions. through this the child is allowing themselves to question what they previously learnt by knowing the difference of the appearance of objects. through this stage the influencers follow the EYFS to increase opportunities for individuals to use their logic to solve problems or investigate experiments.
- - - - through personal observations of influencers within the setting, it is clear that schemas as a whole is not fully understood and supported from an early age. from the research gained it is seen as an annoyance to influencers that children are 'ruining' set up play spaces rather than them engaging with the individuals to help them learn to play and explore their own schemas. showing children it is ok to be an individual in this day and age is critical to individuals mental health at the end of the day. through this the children are not enabled to
        
        Tina Bruce has built on Paget's work of the use of schemas within the early years sector. This has expanded the understanding of the greater influencers within the childcare sector such as, Ofsted. it is linked with the EYFS to help a child to create patterns to their play, language and their actions which in turn will enable them to assimilate and accommodate the new information gained through play. "schemas are patterns of linked behaviors which the child can generalize and use in a whole variety of different situation. it is best to think of schemas as a cluster of pieces which fit together" (Tina Bruce, 1996)
        
        with schemas and piagets work having such a great influence within the EYFS framework the use of observation for a child's interest linked to schemas are critical due to the fact that the setting uses in the moment planning, which entails using the children's immediate interest and observing their actual actions through the "7 Areas of Learning and development" (EYFS DEV MATT 2012)Link Title
- - - - Though Schemas are a fantastic tool of observation they houldnt be used as an isolated tool for learning and development. They should be used in conjunction with other tools such as the seven areas of learning and development to ensure that their holistic needs; physical, emotional, communication and intellectual are within the right ages and stages. this way of observations has been taken from Susan Iaacs from the 1930's, using her observations to analyse and interperate what and why children played and learnt how they did individually. this has been taken right through to the current frame work of the EYFS through to the foundation profile, when influences are planning for the individual child's next steps within the education system.
        
        the theme of schemas isn't purely Piaget, links to schemas can be seen through frobelian, Montissori, steiner and Darwins models of learning and development. this giving the use of schemas to allow children to explore an opportunity.
