      - 私は毎日日本語をべんきょうしています。（I study Japanese everyday)
  - - - 山下先生はけっこんしています。（Professor Yamashita is married)
      - 道子さんはまどのちかくにすわっています。（Michiko is seated near the window).
      - もつ・しる・ふとる・やせる・きる are examples of verbs used in this way.
      - Negation of しっている is しりません。
      - いく and くる belong to this group and thus dictate the current state that results from these movements. 中国に行っています→Somebody has gone to China. (Not somebody is going to China).
