Action potential
- Na+ rushes into cell, causing depolarization
- Strong enough depolarization occurs, threshold potential is reached and impulse is sent down axon
- Strong enough stimulation/nerve impulse causes Na+ gates to open
- K+ rushes out of neuron after Na+ rushes in, causes repolarization back to resting potential.
