•Uterus
-perimetrium- outer layer, serous membrane, peritoneum draped over the uterus
-myometrium- thick muscular layer (smooth muscle), contracts during child birth
-endometrium- inner layer, mucosal layer, has 2 parts. Part one is the functional layer that builds up during the menstural cycle (28 days) and it is shed around days 1-5 of the menstural cycle. Part two is the basal layer which is deep to the functional layer, doesn’t shed and is responsible for the formation of a new functional layer every month
