Culture
Culture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music, and arts. Culture comes from shared patterns or behavior and interactions

We live our lives the way we do because of our culture. Culture in society can either bring people together or tear them apart if one isn’t respectful towards the other
Culture is the way of life for a group of people. Like their clothes they wear, music they listen to, food they eat, tradtions, and beliefs. Earlham High school has its own culture because we all wear clothes that are similar or certain hair styles. Alot of us listen to the same types of music and we share some common beliefs.

Globally there are alot of different cultures Western,eastern, Latin, Middle east, and african. The global culture is a mix and match of all the cultures.

It brings people together from curiosoty of learning about another culture and also brings us together by adding parts of someones elses culture into our own. But it also tears cultures apart because some cultures don’t like how other cultures are. Like how some cultures have different roles for women and some others disagree with that. Some people just don’t respect other cultures and disagree with their way of life so it forces them part.

Language
Language is part of someones culture and alot of the time when people speak the same language then they have similar cultures.
Languages can be organized by Language families (A collection of languages related to a common ancestral), Languages Branches( Collection of languages within a family related through a common ancestral language.Difference are not as significant or as old as between families), Language group ( Collection of languages within a branch that share a common origin in the relatively recent past and display similar grammar and vocabualry )
Then there is indo-european which is (europe,south,asia,north america,latin amerca)
And Sino-Tibetan which is (South east Asia)
Everyone thinks that there is just one language in a country and you associate a language with a country but there are many more languages in a country so not one language can represent a whole country

What language you speak is vital to your culture because that is how your culture would be spread and what language you speak is apart of your culture and also the language you speak will give everyone a clue or your culture
Language can unify people by people learning the language or being curious and talking to people to learn about their language. But it can separate us because if someone is speaking a different language you may stay away from them because you don’t know what they are saying so you don’t try to interact with them

Religion
Religions are organized by Branches (a large fundamental division within a religion), a denomination ( a division of a branch that unties a number of local congregations in a singal leagal and administrative body), Sect (a relatively small group that has broken away from a established denomination)
Universalizing religions is making your religion appealing to all people no matter location or culture. Religions reach more people than other religions because that religion is bigger so it travels farther and faster. Christianity has 2.1 billion followers so it reaches out o more people because there are more people talking about it and spreading it. Universalizing ethnic religions is appealing to one group of people in 1 place. Thats why only 26 percent of the world practice an ethnic religion because they don’t spread and there aren’t alot of people talking about each religion
They believe in one god. Then all of them but judaism believe that they need to work on this life to have a good after life.All religions have conflicts with others. All religions have a certain book that they worship and have a place to go to. Also all religions have a more toned down group and all have extremists.

They think that there should only be one major religion and sometimes one religion will be discriminated against so that makes them mad so they fight. They don’t think 2 religions can be together that it has to be one or the other.
In most religions women have as many rights and not as much freedom. They are thought to be less of. It is different from men because they are thought to be able to do the tasks and that they have all the power because that is how it has been taught.
