They made the decisions to how they live
People could talk about what they thought was the best law and they had freedom of speech and anyone at the assembly could talk
Council of 500 made the laws that the people would then vote on and the majority of people had to vote yes for it to be a law
Each law had to be approved or voted on by the people for it to be made a real law
All citizens could vote on laws so the laws were what the majority of citizens wanted
They would vote on laws based on what they thought would make the city better so this gave the people lots of freedom
Representative Democracy
People vote on leaders
The leaders we vote on make the decisions for us and they decide what is right or wrong
All citizens are aloud to vote on whatever they want

It respects human rights
Anybody can run
Gathered on hill and had an assembly
People debated what was the best option
Anyone could talk about anything
Paid for being part of assembly
