types
hypovolaemia: increased HR, low JVP, low BP, cold skin, slow cap refill
distributive (sepsis, anaphylaxis, spinal): increased HR, low JVP, low BP, warm skin (cold in severe), slow cap refill
cardiogenic: HR may be up or down, high JVP, low BP, cold skin, slow cap refill
obstructive (massive PE, tamponade): increased HR, high JVP, low BP, cold skin, slow cap refill
Rx
distributive
sepsis: life threatening organ dysfunction caused by dysregulated host response to infection (10% mortality)
septic shock: sepsis + seriously low BP

anaphylaxis
stop giving drug, fluid bolus, IM adrenaline, corticosteroid, antihistamine
spinal
ensure it is spinal, fluid bolus, vasoactive medication
