WOK's
-
Reason
In maths, you need reason to come to conclusions
-
-
Arguments
- Brick analogy --> we are constantly building or producing knowledge but with help of other inividuals
-
Counterarguments
- Personal knowledge is also being created, but probably on your own. But is it really new knowledge? Example: learning how to ride a bike --> new to you, but not new to society
Conclusion: it can never be "always", therefore I don't completely agree with this statement, but to the greatest extent I do, considering all the counterarguments
RLS examples
Maths: Nicolas Chuquet named the term "exponentials" --> but he wouldn't have been able to do that if it hadn't been for the babylonians who invented multiplication
History: Mexico's loss of territory to the USA --> if you don't look at the whole context, you can't understand the circumstances of both countries. This has been analysed by multiple historians --> all of them need to go further back and construct on the knowledge of other people (they can't just go back to the beginning of everything (what really is the beginning?)
