The writing process is a fluid process. I was not always taught that in school though. I was taught that the writing process was linear and that there was only one correct way to do it, It turns out that is not the case. The writing process should make sense to each individual, and each person has a different way of doing this. The steps should stay the same: planning, drafting, revision, edition, and final copy, but they should be allowed to work with the process how they see fit. Revision should also be taught, and you should model to students how good revisions go.
Have A chart in my room that shows how fluid the process is, and also be very clear to students about the important areas of the process, and how everyone's process differs from one another
