In many areas of knowledge such as Natural Sciences the necessity to have a concrete proof is often required in order to accept a theory or to say a knowledge is correct.
Within the realm of physics there is a branch of studies called theoretical physics. It consists in investigating concepts that do not often have a concrete proof or conclusions.

Here is an example of how the production of knowledge does not necessarily has to have concrete proofs or a concrete conclusion. Therefore to produce knowledge in the natural sciences it is possible to go beyond the evidence.
Counterargument: empirical evidence have always been needed for the grand majority of successful produced knowledge have had a conclusion and stick to the proofs gained through the empirical methods.
