Coastal landforms
Cliffs
Quarrying- steep waves pounding cliff cliff sides, air is trapped and compressed in a joint or between a breaking wave or cliff. leading to breaks in the rock.
Abrasion- attrition- process of erosion which occurs when natural material being transported wears away at the surface over time.
Shore platform cliffs
Destructive waves hit against the cliff face, causing undercutting between high and low watermarks, mainly as a result of abrasion, attrition and hydrolic action, most common reason for cliff erosion.
