RESISTANCE
-
LARVAL DEVELPMENTAL SPEED. the higher the speed the more susceptible. It follows the expected for most of plant types. Inbreds falled back.
-
TOLERANCE
MANOVA. There is variation between plant types due to larvae presence. Seen in final stem diameter, foliar and root weights.
ONE TAIL T-TEST. In Stem, foliar, and root ratio US landraces compensated tissue, (H0=1). MX landraces also compensated, but not as significant as US landraces. US inbreds compensated only root tissue slightly higher than MX landraces but lower than US landraces.
Pairwise comparison. infested US landraces did not differ from non-infested. It can be considered as tolerant.

HOST vs NON-HOST
-
ONE SAMPLE T-TEST. Null = 0.5. Zea plants vs Sorghum. Larvae preferred Zea than sorghum (P < 0.01 ).
