- - - - superior: body parts above the other body parts.
      - inferior: body parts below other body parts
    - - medial: body parts close to the midline
      - lateral: body parts away from midline.
    - - ventral/anterior: body parts on the front
      - dorsal/posterior: body parts on the back
    - - body parts close to the point of reference are called proximal
      - body parts distant from the point of relation are called distal
      - the wrist is distal and the elbow is proximal to the shoulder
  - - - cranial: contains the brain
      - spinal:contains spinal cord
    - - Thoracic:located in chest and contains the esophagus, trachea,bronchi,lungs,heart, and large blood vessels
      - abdominal/pelvic: also divided into upper and lower part
        
        Upper part contains stomach,small intestines,most of large intestines,appendix,liver,gallbladder,pancreas and spleen.
        
        lower part contains the urinary bladder, the reproductive, and the last part of the large intestine.

      - buccal: the mouth teeth and tongue
