WHAT IS AN AWB
- Evidence of the contractual agreement between the shipper and the carrier of the goods
- The signatures of the airline and the shipper - or freight forwarder - are required
- IATA TACT: Airline AWB with preprinted issuing carrier identification, or an AWB reffered to as as Neutral Air Waybill without the preprinted identification of the carrier in any form.
- Can be used for consolidations and invidual shipments
- Air shipments must be covered and accompanied by an AWB issued by the transporting airline.
- Another airline will be activated if goods can't uplift to final destination
- Special interline agreements can be formalised between airlines for carriage of one another;s commercial loads.
- The shipper must prepare an SLI (Shipper's Letter Instruction) if it a direct shipper.
- The shipper is responsible for the accuracy of the all infor, particulars and remarks on the AWB.
- The shipper is responsible for any damages suffers by the airline or its representatives that is due to inaccurate infor and /or details.
