Religions can be split up among different denominations. For example christian can be split up into 4 different denominations Eastern orthodox, Roman Catholic Church, Angelic, and Protestant. All of these denominations have things in common and things that are different. Other examples would include Islam which also have 4 sufism, shi’a, sunni, and Ahmadiyya. This is important so we can see every denominations purpose for life and what their opinion is.
