Long Term Cause of WW1
1908 - Bosnian Crisis
Austria took over Bosnia but Russia and Serbia protested, but packed away when Germany said they supported Austria. Russia nor Serbia wanted to risk war.
Balkan Wars 1912-1913
There was a series of small wars between the Balkans but Serbia came out on top as the most powerful country. This was serious for Austria, Serbia had a strong army and it was an ally with Russia so Austria decided that Serbia had to be dealt with

The US enter the war after a ship with civilians on was sunk that had 128 Americans on board.
