unit rates are rates but you have to find what only one of the units are worth, for example $25.00 to 6 hot dogs. you only want to find what one of the hot dogs are worth
equivalent Ratios
equivalent ratios are equal to a different ratio with different numbers, for example 3 to 5 is equivalent to 15 to 25

there are 3 ways you can write ratios: with a colon (4:6), with the word to (4 to 6), or as a fraction (4/6)

simplest form is at small of a number as you can go, for example, 54 to 6 in simplest form is 9 to 1
