Group 1 Metals if reacted with water spark an explosion or fizzing noise coming from the metal when you drop it in. The further down the group you go the bigger the explosion is.
As you look down the column on the periodic table, the atoms get larger and have less ability to attract electrons. Therefore Astatine is the most reactive whilst Flourine is the least reactive
Group 0 (Noble Gases) do not need to reactive with anything because they already have full electron shells and do not require anymore to try and fill that.
